Based in Wellington, New Zealand, I help public sector and purpose-driven organisations and individuals flip their thinking about the learning they deliver. Learning should be about the impact it creates, and I can show you how to build your practice and set up learning systems that make a difference.Whether you're creating your first piece of learning, reviewing your learning systems, or growing your own or your team’s capability, I offer grounded, practical support that’s focused on real outcomes for you, your team, and the people you serve.I work with both experienced L&D practitioners and leaders, and those new to the learning space, helping them to use learning as a tool for impact.Through mentoring, advice, and collaboration, I support you to build confidence, clarity, and learning that works.

What I do

Show you how to design learning for impact

Designing for impact flips the focus from learning as an activity to learning as a strategic tool. I help organisations shift from asking “what content should we deliver?” to “what change do we need to see, and how will learning support that?”

Empower you, your team and your practice

I help learning professionals grow their confidence, clarity, and capability, whether they’re just starting out, or leading their own teams. Through mentoring, coaching, and community, I support people in purpose-driven organisations to strengthen their learning practice and impact. I am all about making the complex clear!

Partner with you to lift your learning quality

I help organisations lift the quality and effectiveness of the learning they already deliver. Through targeted evaluation and quality assurance systems, I support L&D teams to understand what’s working, what’s not, and what could be done differently, so they can focus on what really matters.

About me

I’m Aleeshea Reid, a learning and development leader who’s spent 15 years shaping learning approaches and quality and evaluation frameworks for Aotearoa’s public and tertiary sectors. In my career, I have been drawn to roles where I was responsible for changing the way learning was approached. I did this by starting with our 'why' and getting really clear on what we were trying to get our learning to do for the people we were serving. This led me to create new ways of working, build systems, teams, and new ways of thinking about learning. I know now, the thread that underpins all that I do is purpose and impact.I know how hard it can be when you know the way your organisation approaches learning needs to change. It is hard because learning is complex and there are always lots of different perspectives on the best way forward. When we are still stepping into our own confidence, it can be hard to champion what we know works, especially when others are hesitant to change. That is why I love helping others to find their feet to lead learning improvement initiatives. What I know for sure is that the key to creating learning that makes a difference is moving from thinking “What content should we deliver?” to “What change are we trying to achieve?”.I created Learning Impact, so that I can champion the change that needs to take place for learning to be impactful. If you want your learning to amplify the impact your organisation is trying to have, I want to help you.If you value clarity, simplicity, and need some support from someone who has walked the talk, then let's chat.

Designing for impact

Create learning that delivers results, not just good intentions

Designing for impact shifts the focus from what you teach to what changes because of it. Whether you're a learning professional or a team new to creating learning, I help you build practical, measurable learning that supports the outcomes your organisation needs.

What this looks like in practice

I will work with your or your team organisations to:◽ Clarify the impact you want to achieve
◽work out the outcomes that will lead to your intended impact
◽work out what learning will lead to the outcomes you want to achieve
◽Evaluate and quality assure your work to make sure it is working
Whether you’re designing something new or rethinking an existing programme, I’ll help you move from “What content should we deliver?” to “What change are we trying to achieve, and how will we know we’ve done it?”

How will we work together?

I work with you in the way that works best for you. This might mean I work with your team to build a strategy or frameworks and tools to implement. It might mean that I work on a capability framework and capability upift to enable your teams to design for impact. Sometimes the best way to achieve a change is to mentor your learning leaders to bring the team on the journey themselves.
If you would like to talk to me about how we could work together, send me an email.

Empowering L&D people and their practice

Learning impact logo

Behind every impactful learning experience is people who made it happen. I believe those people deserve just as much support and investment as the systems they work within. In my career I have been drawn to roles where I was building learning systems, approaches, ways of working and teams from the ground up. These roles have been exciting and huge learning curves. It is rewarding but it is also tough trying to speak, act and lead from a place of confidence when you are not entirely sure if you are right. This is where I come in, I can be your sounding board and your guide when you need to find a way forward.I work alongside learning professionals, learning leaders, and people who are brand new to learning who want to know where to start. I simplify the complex, help grow confidence, clarity, and capability to help you have the impact you want to.Whether you're navigating a new learning leadership role, building your identity as a learning practitioner, or trying to strengthen your team's shared practice, I offer support, advice and real tools to solve your problems.I know what it is like to be building a learning system from scratch and not know where to start. I want to share what I have learned to make your journey easier. This part of my work is about people, not just processes and it’s driven by a belief that good learning needs good leadership, clear thinking, and communities of practice that lift each other up.

What this looks like in practice

I will work with you to:
◽ work through your learning and development challenges to support you to work more effectively
◽ Support you to grow your skills through coaching and guidance
◽ Co-design tools and resources that you need to lead, design or build your team
◽ Facilitate capability uplift through targetted development or my predesigned courses and resources

How will we work together?

We can work together through a mentoring relationship, with regular meet-ups, check-ins and chats. I can come to your organisation, meet your team, understand your context and work out what tools, resources and support you need and then work with you to set it up. I can work with small groups for practice development sessions or facilitate sessions with your team to achieve the outcomes needed.
If you would like to talk to me about how we could work together, send me an email.

Partnering with you to lift your learning quality

Learning impact logo

I work alongside organisations to help lift the quality and clarity of the learning they already deliver — without needing to start from scratch. Together, we focus on what’s working, what’s not, and what could be strengthened to better support learners and outcomes.
Many organisations already have learning in place — courses, workshops, eLearning, or on-the-job support. But it’s not always clear whether those efforts are having the impact you need. That’s where I come in.
Being a Learning Quality Partner means bringing a critical but constructive eye to your existing learning. I help you evaluate where your learning is aligned to your goals, where it’s falling short, and what small shifts could make a big difference. This isn’t about tearing things down — it’s about making what you already do more effective, more targeted, and more measurable.

How this looks in practice

Every organisation is different, but this work often includes:◽Developing quality principles and indicators that align with your learners and context
◽Mapping your learning to the outcomes you’re trying to achieve
◽Spotting gaps, duplication, or inefficiencies
◽Strengthening or establishing evaluation tools and processes so you know what’s working
◽Building your team’s internal capability to maintain quality over time
Whether you have an in-house L&D team or learning is just one of many hats your people wear, I tailor my support to meet you where you are.

How would we work together?

We’d start with a conversation about what’s important to you; your people, your outcomes, and the impact you want learning to have. From there, we’d agree on a focus: it might be one course, one team, or a full review of your learning systems. You can engage me for a one-off review or, as a Learning Quality Partner through an ongoing arrangement. This gives you regular access to expertise, without the overhead of building a dedicated quality assurance function in-house.You’ll get clear feedback, practical advice, and someone to walk alongside you as you strengthen the quality and value of your learning.
